The decision to wear or not to wear a mask has unfortunately become a divisive topic in communities across the nation, including our own. The good news is we all have the same goal of having a safe community, so instead of focusing on the 'Why' of mask-wearing that may cause dissension, Mask Up Provo hopes to generate a community rally call with all of us instead thinking, 'Why Not'?"
Masks Now Expected in All City Facilities, Safety Stations Available
Both the City Council and myself agree that the health and well-being of our employees is of prime importance, as is the safety of the citizens who are visiting our facilities. We not only want our employees to feel safe at work, but we want them to know that Provo's leadership is on-board. I'm grateful for our Provo City Council and their shared commitment to protect our city.
We will be implementing safety stations at all of our city facilities. You will start seeing the following signs displayed, informing the public that masks are expected. At our safety stations, masks will be provided for those who don't have one and hand sanitizer for anyone who would like some. For anyone who doesn't want to wear a mask, they are encouraged to visit provo.org where they can safely do business with the city online.
For those who have questions about how masks will work at the Provo Recreation Center, please read through the following graphics:

Wearing a mask should be mandatory at the universities. Yes we live in America where I'm free to not breathe your smoke or keep you from driving drunk. Also helmets and seat belts to keep my insurance from going up. Be and ACT like an American. Buck up, wear a mask.
Why not? Because you are a leader not a dictator. Our constitution is about protecting INDIDUAL rights. I honor your right to believe that a mask will protect you and keep you safe. Please honor my belief that they are useless and unhealthy. Masks have become a religion. Please don’t force your religion on me. I love the Provo Rec Center! I live in Vineyard but pay the higher fees to go there. They have taken great precautions already so patrons “feel” safe. If masks are mandated/forced and policed then you have forgotten where you live.....America!
Great campaign! I love the call to community action. We can make a difference for those whose health is at greatest risk if we work together.
Wearing a mask is a "placeholder" for the eventual vaccine that will be "voluntary"...unless you want to board an airplane, enter a government building, or work. Forcing mask compliance is psychological manipulation to condition the population for vaccine acceptance. Cloth/paper masks DO NOT PROTECT YOU FROM VIRUSES.
