Target is Coming to Provo!

Our residents have hoped for a Target for very long time, and we are so excited to welcome this store to Provo!  The store will be a retail destination for students and families alike, making it an excellent addition to the Riverside Plaza shopping center and to our community.

Target has signed a lease with TKG Riverside Plaza, LLC for the BYU small-format store, located at 1290 N. State St., which is 26,100-square-feet and will be the retailer's first small-format store in Utah.

"Our first small-format store in Utah will offer BYU students and area residents a convenient, one-stop shopping experience that offers the best of Target custom-tailored for local guests. We design our campus stores to meet the unique needs of the neighborhood, and we look forward to making shopping easy and inspiring for students and families in the Cougar community," said Mark Schindele, senior vice president, Properties, Target in a press release.

According to the company, “TargetExpress features an edited assortment of merchandise, including fresh produce, grab-and-go food and snacks, pharmacy, home, seasonal, electronics, beauty and more.”

The BYU Target will employ up to 50 team members and is scheduled to open in 2018.

These stores serve as neighborhood hubs for guests to pick up online orders, bringing added convenience to their “Target runs.” They also reach guests in areas Target couldn’t before, and connect with college students at a time when they’re developing brand preferences.

Riverside Plaza also houses Macey’s grocery story, Rite Aid and other smaller food and merchandise retailers.
